Caleb Christensen

Hi, my name is Caleb Christensen and I am a Javascript Developer. I'm 28 and ready to start the next chapter of my life. I was born in Indiana and raised in Michigan, however I live in Fishers, Indiana. I have a wife and three beautiful kids who are my world. My sister, a full stack developer, inspired me to chase my dream of working in the tech world. I am passionate about brainstorming, planning, designing, executing, and improving projects.

I started off as a young entrepreneur at the age of 20. For the past 8 years I have been a partner and general manager of two Jet's Pizza locations in Indiana. Managing the stores is where I grew both my professional skill set and maturity. I ran all aspects of the company from everyday operations, HR, payroll, balancing the books, training, marketing, and audit preparation. The adventure of being an entrepreneur was exciting but left me unfulfilled. The job wasn't mentally stimulating enough for me, it was more physically demanding than anything.

I wanted an outlet for both my creativity and passion to shine through. That’s when I discovered Eleven Fifty Academy and found a renewed purpose in my life. Since the moment the program started, I felt creatively inspired and enjoy learning the new applications and programs. I have a project-oriented mind which feels right at home with all the designing, problem solving, and implementation that coding demands.

My short time in Eleven Fifty Academy has already proven invaluable. I have been passionate about computers ever since the first PC came out. Learning how to utilize them to their fullest is a personal goal of mine. It's opened a creative outlet in me that I haven't been able to express in my previous work. I'm looking forward to a long career of growth and adventure. They say if you love what you do, you will never work a day of your life.
